By eosguide editorial · Last updated
Zumba video privacy settlement: 4,543 buyers get at least $229.33 per share, up to 3 shares, paid automatically. No claim needed. The lawsuit says your order confirmation page had more readers than you did.
What happened
Class period: October 22, 2022 through October 22, 2024
- The lawsuit says Zumba Fitness used tracking pixels on Zumba.com in a way that violated the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA), a federal privacy law.
- It says buyers' first and last names appeared on order confirmation pages whose URLs were shared with third-party advertisers Meta, Pinterest, and MNTN.
- The case is Kueppers et al. v. Zumba Fitness, LLC, Case No. 0:24-cv-61983-WPD, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
- Zumba denies wrongdoing but agreed to a $2,700,000 settlement.
- It affects 4,543 people in the U.S. who bought the ZB1 OD Version from Zumba.com between October 22, 2022 and October 22, 2024.
Your home address, phone number, relatives, or other personal details may already appear on data broker and people-search sites.
This settlement may pay eligible claimants for what happened here — worth filing. But data brokers are a separate, ongoing problem — hundreds of companies collect and sell your personal information continuously, from public records, loyalty programs, and more. They don’t need a hack to get it. Incogni sends removal requests to 420+ data brokers on your behalf and continues checking for reappearing data.
