$7 Schnucks Sales Tax Settlement: How to Claim (No proof)
By eosguide editorial · Last updated
Claim $7 by Nov. 3, 2026, with no proof, if you used Schnucks Rewards Points at a Missouri store and paid tax on the full price. Your points lowered the price, but apparently nobody told the sales tax.
What happened
Class period: May 2, 2020, through August 7, 2026
- Sharon Garcia sued Schnuck Markets, Inc. in the Circuit Court of St. Louis County, Missouri (Garcia v. Schnuck Market, Inc., Case No. 25SL-CC04761)
- The lawsuit claims that when Schnucks Rewards Members redeemed Rewards Points at Missouri stores, Schnucks charged Missouri sales tax on the full, pre-discount price instead of the lower, discounted price
- Schnucks denies it did anything wrong but agreed to settle to avoid the cost and risk of a trial
- The settlement covers about 900,000 class members
- Schnucks will also change its point-of-sale (POS) system so future Rewards Points redemptions are treated as a pre-tax discount
