What happened

Class period: January 1, 1997 through April 15, 2025

• Policyholders sued certain Lloyd's of London syndicates that sold insurance in the United States
• Plaintiffs say the defendants ran a scheme to hide a lack of competition in the Lloyd's market
• The claims include violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), civil conspiracy, and unjust enrichment
• The lawsuit was filed on July 13, 2007, in Florida and moved to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in December 2007
• Syndicates 727, 1003, 2003, 2020, and 2791 agreed to pay $3,570,000 to settle, but deny the claims
• This is a partial settlement; the case continues against Syndicate 2488
• The case is Lincoln Adventures, LLC, et al. v. Those Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's, et al., Case No. 2:08-cv-00235-CCC-ESK (D.N.J.)

Who may qualify

• You are a person or business in the United States or its territories
• You bought or renewed an insurance policy with a Lloyd's syndicate named as a defendant in the lawsuit
• The coverage started or renewed between January 1, 1997 and April 15, 2025
• The policy is an insurance policy, not reinsurance
• You are not a defendant, a Lloyd's syndicate, a presiding judge, or a judge's immediate family member

How to file

1. If you filed a claim in the 2019 or 2023 Lloyd's settlements, you do not need to file again
2. Past claimants may file an extra claim for policies from March 25, 2019 to April 15, 2025
3. Go to the File a Claim page and file online, or download a paper Claim Form
4. Complete a separate Claim Form for each policy you bought or renewed
5. Mail paper forms to the Claims Administrator, or email them to info@SyndicateSettlement.com
6. Submit online or postmark by October 30, 2026

Proof required

• The Claim Form asks for details about each eligible policy
• Payments use the premium you paid, based on public records and the information you give
• The Claims Administrator may ask for supporting documents or more information
• All claims are subject to anti-fraud checks and random or selective audits

Payment timing

Payments are based on the premium paid for eligible policies and go to Class Members with valid, timely claims. Timing and payment method are not listed -- check https://syndicatesettlement.com/home/ for updates.

• Joining this settlement does not stop you from getting money from any future result against Syndicate 2488
• Class Counsel will ask for up to one-third of the fund in fees, plus up to $200,000 in expenses
• The fee request will be filed by September 18, 2026, and posted on the settlement website
• Payments may have tax effects; you may want to talk to a tax advisor
• Late claims may be accepted, but only at the administrator's or Class Counsel's choice
• The release is broad and covers claims back to January 1, 1997
