What happened

Class period: January 1, 2023 through July 26, 2025

• Tyler Lynch sued Zale Delaware, Inc. and Sterling Jewelers Inc. in King County Superior Court in Washington, Case No. 24-2-24820-0 SEA, before Judge John McHale
• The lawsuit claims the companies broke Washington's pay transparency law, RCW 49.58.110, by running Washington job postings that did not disclose the wage scale, salary range, or benefits information
• It also claims some postings listed pay ranges that started below Washington's applicable annual minimum wage
• The companies deny they did anything wrong and deny they can be held liable for the claims
• Both sides agreed to settle to avoid the cost, risk, and delay of continuing the case

• Minimum Wage Settlement Class: the job posting showed a wage scale or salary range that started below Washington's applicable annual minimum wage, or below the minimum wage of the relevant jurisdiction in Washington
• No Pay Settlement Class: the job posting did not disclose the pay or benefits information at all
• You received a Notice with a LoginID and PIN, or you can confirm your status with the Settlement Administrator
• You did not ask to be excluded from the settlement

How to file

1. Go to https://zdiclassactionsettlement.com/ and click "Submit a Claim"
2. Log in with the LoginID and PIN printed on the Notice sent to you
3. Complete the Claim Form and confirm your current mailing address, phone number, and email
4. If you would rather not file online, email your completed Claim Form to info@ZDIClassActionSettlement.com or mail it to Lynch v. Zale Delaware, Inc., c/o Simpluris, P.O. Box 26170, Santa Ana, CA 92799
5. Submit online or postmark your form on or before September 28, 2026
6. Contact the Settlement Administrator if your address or phone number changes before payments go out

Proof required

• No receipts, pay stubs, or copies of your job application are required
• You need the LoginID and PIN from your Notice to file the online form
• All claims go through a verification process, and the Settlement Administrator may request additional information
• Respond promptly if the administrator asks for anything so your claim can be verified on time

Payment timing

Payments go out after the October 23, 2026 final approval hearing and after any appeals or reviews are finished. Payments are treated as non-wage damages and reported on a Form 1099. Individual payments expire and become void 180 days after the date they are issued.

• The court has not approved the settlement yet, and no payments will be made unless it does and the settlement becomes final
• The companies say they will not retaliate against anyone who takes part, and your choice will not affect any job application or your treatment as a current or former employee
• If you do nothing, you get no payment and you still give up the right to sue over these claims
