Up to $36 Per Ticket Suffolk Red-Light Camera Settlement
By eosguide editorial · Last updated
Claim up to $36 for each $30 red-light camera fee you paid Suffolk County since April 2013. File by Dec 8, 2026. A rare case where a red-light ticket could hand back more than the fee.
What happened
Class period: April 1, 2013 through the present
- A class action claims Suffolk County and the Suffolk County Traffic and Parking Violation Agency charged an unlawful $30 administrative fee on top of the fine for each red-light camera violation

- The Court declared the fees illegal and ordered the County to stop charging them. The County is appealing certain rulings
- The County denies wrongdoing and agreed to settle to avoid the costs and risks of a trial
- The settlement affects anyone who paid the $30 fee from April 1, 2013 to the present
