By eosguide team · Last updated May 15, 2026
Register.com is paying $1.5 million to settle claims it robocalled reassigned cell numbers without consent. File a claim by June 15, 2026. They called a number that wasn't yours anymore -- and somehow wound up owing the person who answered.
What happened
Class period: February 12, 2021 through November 24, 2025
- Register.com placed robocalls using artificial or prerecorded voices to cell phone numbers that had been permanently disconnected and reassigned to new owners -- without the new owners' consent
- The calls were placed between February 12, 2021 and November 24, 2025, to 453 phone numbers listed in the FCC's Reassigned Numbers Database
- Plaintiff Tiffany Lewis filed a class action alleging these calls violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), which prohibits autodialed or prerecorded calls to cell phones without prior express consent
- Register.com merged into Network Solutions, LLC on July 25, 2025; Network Solutions is the surviving entity and party to the settlement
What you can get
