Up to $5,000 Healthcare Services Group Data Breach Settlement

What happened

Class period: There is no class period. Eligibility is based on the single Data Incident that happened on or around September 27, 2024.

• Healthcare Services Group, Inc. (HCSG) had a cybersecurity incident on or around September 27, 2024. The company says it learned of possible unauthorized access to its computer systems on or around October 7, 2024.
• An investigation found that the incident may have reached names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, state ID numbers, financial account details, full access credentials, and medical and health insurance information.
• HCSG started mailing notices to affected people on August 25, 2025.
• Four people sued HCSG in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The case is Williamson, et al. v. Healthcare Services Group, Inc., Case No. 2:25-cv-04908-JDW.
• The lawsuit claims negligence, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violations of the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act and the Washington Consumer Protection Act, among others.
• HCSG denies all claims and says it did nothing wrong. The court has not ruled for either side. Both sides agreed to settle to avoid a trial.
• HCSG will pay $3,000,000 into a Settlement Fund. It has also made security changes to its systems.

• You are not HCSG, an HCSG officer, director, or legal representative, or part of an HCSG subsidiary
• You are not a judge assigned to the case, a member of that judge's immediate family, or judicial staff
• You do not opt out of the Settlement Class by September 4, 2026

How to file

1. Go to https://healthcareservicesgroupsettlement.com/ and click "Submit Claim"
2. Complete the online Claim Form by October 1, 2026
3. Upload Reasonable Documentation if you are claiming Documented Monetary Losses
4. Select the credit monitoring option on the form if you want the three years of coverage
5. To file on paper instead, mail your completed Claim Form postmarked by October 1, 2026 to: Williamson, et al. v. Healthcare Services Group, Inc., c/o Kroll Settlement Administration, P.O. Box 225391, New York, NY 10150-5391

Proof required

• Pro Rata Cash Payment: no documents required
• Credit Monitoring: no documents required
• Documented Monetary Loss: Reasonable Documentation is required, such as credit card statements, bank statements, invoices, telephone records, screen shots, or receipts
• A personal certification, declaration, or affidavit by itself is not enough for a Documented Monetary Loss claim
• If your loss claim is rejected and you do not fix the problem, it will be treated as a claim for a Pro Rata Cash Payment instead
• You cannot be paid for expenses that were already covered by another source

Payment timing

Payments go out after the court grants final approval and after any appeals are finished. The Final Fairness Hearing is set for September 24, 2026. Credit monitoring activation codes will be emailed after final approval. The official site does not list the payment methods yet, so check https://healthcareservicesgroupsettlement.com/ for updates.

Extra details

• The two official pages give slightly different dates for the incident. The Home page says the Data Incident happened on or around September 27, 2024. The FAQ page says HCSG became aware of it on or around October 7, 2024. Both refer to the same event.
• Notices did not start going out until August 25, 2025, about eleven months after the incident.
• The Home page describes the exposed data as employee personal information, but the Settlement Class is defined more broadly as anyone who was sent a notice.
• No one can quote you a Pro Rata Cash Payment amount in advance. It is whatever is left in the fund divided evenly among people who file.
• The administrator pays claims in a set order: Documented Monetary Losses first, then Credit Monitoring, then Pro Rata Cash Payments. If the fund runs short, amounts are cut proportionally.
• Credit monitoring costs you paid yourself count as a documented loss if they were incurred on or after September 27, 2024 through October 1, 2026.
• Class Counsel will ask the court for attorneys' fees of up to one-third of the fund ($1,000,000) plus expenses, and a $2,500 Service Award for each of the four Class Representatives. These come out of the $3,000,000 before claims are paid.
• If you do nothing, you get no money and you still give up your right to sue HCSG over this incident.
• Group or "mass" opt-outs are not allowed. Each person must send their own written request.
• Only one settlement website is authorized for this case. Ignore any other site or email asking for payment or bank logins.
