Valve Repair Refunds + 7-Year Warranty: FCA 3.6L Settlement
By eosguide editorial · Last updated
Claim refunds for past valve repairs by Oct 12, 2026, plus a 7-year/70,000-mile warranty in the FCA 3.6L Jeep, Dodge, Ram, and Chrysler settlement. The case argued these valve parts count as "high-priced" under California's emissions warranty, a point most owners already proved at the service counter.
What happened
Class period: Model-year 2015 through 2020 vehicles (2015 to 2019 for Dodge Journey, 2015 to 2017 for Chrysler 200)
- A class action lawsuit, Regueiro v. FCA US LLC, claims FCA US did not give proper warranty coverage for certain valve train parts
- The suit says the Valve Rocker Arm, Valve Stem Oil Seal, and Valve Tappet should have been covered as "high-priced" warranted parts under the California Emissions Warranty
- It affects people who bought or leased certain 2015 to 2020 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles with a 3.6L engine in California and 10 other states
- The settlement does not mean FCA US did anything wrong, and the court has not decided who would win
- The case is pending in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Case No. 2:22-cv-05521

Extra details
- The warranty extension is automatic for class members who do not opt out
- Warranty work must be done at an authorized FCA US dealership, which will not charge fees for covered diagnosis or repair
- The 7 years count from the vehicle's in-service date, so many older vehicles may already be past the extended coverage; for those owners, the refund is the main benefit
- If a claim is denied, Class Counsel and FCA US's counsel will try to resolve it; if they cannot agree within 30 days, it may go to a neutral third party
- The settlement does not release claims for death, personal injury, damage to property other than the vehicle, or any pending lemon law claim
- Class Counsel will ask for up to $1,005,000 in fees and costs, paid by FCA US
- A paper Claim Form and Exclusion Request Form are on the Documents page
- Questions go to the administrator, not the court or FCA US's counsel: https://forms.ksacms.com/efiling/fr/contactus/general2/new?form-version=1&case_code=83248
