FAQ

Who qualifies for this settlement?
You qualify if you live in Florida and had a mortgage serviced by Nationstar (now Mr. Cooper) between May 29, 2013 and July 24, 2025, and you were charged one or more of the covered fees for service of process, property maintenance, or property inspection.
How much money can I get?
Up to $300. You get $100 for each of the three fee categories that applied to your account. The final amount is paid pro rata, so if a lot of people file, each check may be smaller.
Do I need receipts or proof?
No. You just fill out and sign the claim form. Eligibility is based on Nationstar's own records, which is fitting, since they are the ones who kept track of the fees in the first place.
What is the deadline to file?
August 15, 2026. Online claims are due by 11:59 p.m. EST that day, and mailed claims must be postmarked by then.
When will I get paid?
Checks go out within 60 days after the Court grants final approval. A Final Approval Hearing is set for September 14, 2026, so payments would follow after that if the settlement is approved.
Is Nationstar the same as Mr. Cooper?
Yes. Nationstar Mortgage LLC now does business as Mr. Cooper, and Rocket Mortgage is its successor by merger. Same company, different name on the door.
