  • A class action called Brynn Grossman et al. v. Night US, LLC and Brooklyn Bedding LLC was filed in the Superior Court of California, County of San Diego (Case No. 26CU017232N)
  • The lawsuit claims the companies deceptively advertised discounts on four mattress websites: leesa.com, brooklynbedding.com, helixsleep.com, and bearmattress.com
  • It claims this broke California consumer protection laws, and adds claims for breach of contract, breach of express warranty, unjust enrichment, and misrepresentation
  • The companies deny all of it and say their advertising was lawful the whole time. They settled to avoid the cost and risk of a trial
  • Records show about 74,000 qualifying mattress orders, putting the total value of payments and vouchers around $8,163,000
  • It affects people who bought a discounted mattress from those four sites while in California or as a California resident

Extra details

  • This is a rare settlement where doing nothing still pays. You get a $110 Credit Voucher per mattress automatically. Cash requires the form
  • Credit Vouchers only work on the site you bought from. Two mattresses from two different sites means two vouchers that cannot be combined
  • Vouchers can be stacked with other sales and discounts, transferred to someone else, and used against shipping, taxes, and fees. No blackout dates
  • Attorney fees up to $1,900,000, admin costs up to $40,000, and incentive awards up to $5,000 each are paid separately by the companies. They do not reduce your $110
  • If you object to the settlement, you still stay in the class and still get your award
  • To keep the right to sue on your own, mail an exclusion request by August 26, 2026. It must be signed by you personally, not a lawyer
  • Class Counsel at Dovel and Luner, LLP can answer questions for free at (310) 656-7066
  • No one involved can give tax advice. Ask your own tax advisor
  • Watch for scams. File only through the official site, and never pay a fee to submit a claim

FAQ

Who qualifies for this mattress settlement?
People who bought one or more mattresses advertised at a discount from leesa.com, brooklynbedding.com, helixsleep.com, or bearmattress.com, while physically in California or as a California resident. Each site has its own date range.
How much do I get?
$110 for each qualifying mattress order. Buy three discounted mattresses during the covered dates and that is $330.
What is the difference between cash and store credit?
Both are worth $110. Cash needs a claim form and comes as a check or electronic payment. Store credit arrives automatically if you do nothing, and can only be spent on the site you originally bought from.
What if I do nothing?
You still get a $110 Credit Voucher per mattress. It is one of the few settlements where ignoring the mail still pays, though you are paid in the same store's currency.
Are the vouchers restricted?
Not much. They last three years, stack with other sales, transfer to other people, and cover shipping, taxes, and fees. The one limit is that a voucher only works on the site you bought from.
Do I need my receipt or order number?
No. You sign the form attesting you qualify. Your name and details do need to match the personal information on your original orders.
I bought two mattresses. Do I file twice?
No. Submit one claim form only. One form covers every qualifying order you placed, and extra forms can cause problems.
What is the deadline?
September 25, 2026 to file for cash. August 26, 2026 if you want to opt out or object instead.
When will I get paid?
After the October 16, 2026 hearing and after any appeals are resolved. The notice warns appeals can take more than a year, so do not plan a mattress purchase around it.
Is this settlement real?
Yes. It is Brynn Grossman et al. v. Night US, LLC and Brooklyn Bedding LLC, Case No. 26CU017232N, in the Superior Court of California, County of San Diego. Angeion Group is the claims administrator.
