What happened

Class period: February 1, 2018, through September 9, 2025

  • WISP, Inc. -- the company behind the internet service brand hellowisp.com -- is accused of secretly sharing customers' personally identifiable information (PII) with Meta and other third parties through the Meta Pixel and similar tracking, analytics, and advertising technologies embedded on its website
  • Plaintiffs allege this was done without customers' knowledge or consent, in violation of the Florida Security of Communications Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act, and the federal Electronic Communications Privacy Act
  • WISP denies all wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the cost and uncertainty of continued litigation
  • The lawsuit was filed in the Circuit Court of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit, Broward County, Florida, as Case No. CACE26001543
  • Anyone who purchased a product on hellowisp.com between February 1, 2018, and September 9, 2025, may be eligible for a flat $18 cash payment
Privacy cleanup

Your home address, phone number, relatives, or other personal details may already appear on data broker and people-search sites.

This settlement may pay eligible claimants for what happened here — worth filing. But data brokers are a separate, ongoing problem — hundreds of companies collect and sell your personal information continuously, from public records, loyalty programs, and more. They don’t need a hack to get it. Incogni sends removal requests to 420+ data brokers on your behalf and continues checking for reappearing data.

FAQ

Who qualifies for this settlement?
Any living U.S. citizen who purchased a product on hellowisp.com between February 1, 2018, and September 9, 2025. If you received a notice email with a Class Member ID, you are likely included.
What did WISP allegedly do wrong?
Plaintiffs allege that WISP embedded the Meta Pixel and other tracking technologies on its website and, in doing so, transmitted customers' personal information to Meta and other third parties without their knowledge or consent. WISP denies all wrongdoing.
How much will I receive?
$18.00, flat, if you submit a valid claim. No more, no less -- everyone who files gets the same amount regardless of purchase history.
Do I need to prove I was a customer?
You must provide the unique Class Member ID from the notice email you received. If you did not get a notice but believe you qualify, call (833) 447-6794 to verify your eligibility.
How do I file a claim?

What happens if I do nothing?
You get nothing -- and you give up your right to sue WISP for the claims covered by this settlement. Unlike some settlements, participation here is not automatic; you must file to get paid.
How do I opt out of the settlement?
Mail a signed letter requesting exclusion -- including your name, address, signature, and the case name and number (Sophin v. WISP, Inc., Case No. CACE26001543) -- to the Settlement Administrator postmarked no later than July 13, 2026. Opting out preserves your right to sue WISP independently but means no $18 payment.
How will I receive my payment?
Electronically via PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle. If you cannot receive payment electronically, you may request a check. Checks expire 180 days after issuance.
When will the court decide whether to approve the settlement?

How much are the attorneys getting?
Class Counsel may seek up to $1,500,000 in fees, costs, and expenses, paid by the Defendant -- not deducted from class member payments. The Court has final say on the amount awarded.
