By eosguide team · Last updated May 14, 2026
Splunk LLC and Cisco Systems settled a class action over Washington job postings that omitted pay and benefits info -- eligible applicants may claim \~$1,673. Companies that sell data tools to the world apparently ran low on data when writing their own job postings.
What happened
Class period: January 1, 2023 through July 26, 2025
- Plaintiff John Milito filed a class action lawsuit in King County Superior Court alleging that Splunk LLC and Cisco Systems, Inc. violated Washington's Equal Pay and Opportunities Act (RCW 49.58.110) by failing to disclose the wage scale, salary range, or benefits information on job postings for open positions in Washington state
- The class period covers job applications submitted between January 1, 2023, and July 26, 2025
- Washington law requires employers to include pay range and general benefits information in all job postings; the lawsuit alleges Defendants failed to meet that requirement
- Defendants deny all liability and do not admit any wrongdoing as part of the proposed settlement; the Court has not decided who is correct
- The case is pending in King County Superior Court as Case No. 25-2-18362-9 SEA
