What happened

  • Penske Media Corporation (PMC), the parent company of Rolling Stone LLC, is accused of breaching its contracts with "lifetime" magazine subscribers by switching them from the printed edition to a digital E-Edition without their consent
  • Plaintiffs also allege PMC violated the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act in connection with the same switch
  • The lawsuit, Krivin v. Penske Media Corp. (Case No. 2:25-cv-05803), is pending before Judge André Birotte Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California
  • PMC and its affiliates deny all claims and deny any liability or wrongdoing
  • A proposed class action settlement has been reached that would restore print delivery and provide free digital access to affected lifetime subscribers across the United States
