How to file

Proof required

  • All claimants: proof of valid ticket purchase to the July 14, 2024 Copa America Final Match (e.g., Ticketmaster order confirmation, receipt, or other proof of payment)
  • Denied Entry Class members (Option A): a date- and time-stamped photograph or video taken outside Hard Rock Stadium during the Final Match that clearly shows your face
  • Denied Entry Class members (Option B — if you don't have a timestamped photo/video): a copy of a valid government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport; you may redact all information except your name and photo before submitting
  • Important: The Settlement Administrator may use facial recognition technology to verify Denied Entry claims by cross-referencing submitted photos and videos against footage captured in and around the stadium during the match — by submitting a claim you consent to this process
  • Denied Full Access Class members: proof of ticket purchase is the primary requirement; no photo verification is required

Payment timing

Cash awards will be distributed after the court grants final approval of the settlement following the May 13, 2026 Fairness Hearing. If there are appeals, payment could be delayed by a year or more. On your Claim Form you can request payment via Venmo, PayPal, ACH, or Zelle; paper checks are also available but expire 90 days after issuance. A second distribution round may occur for any uncashed or undelivered payments from the first round.

  • Claims are limited to one Claim Form per household; if multiple class members in the same household each bought tickets, they must each provide their own supporting documentation but should all be listed on a single combined form

You are eligible if you held a valid ticket to the Copa America Final Match on July 14, 2024 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and were either (1) denied entry to the stadium entirely, or (2) admitted but then denied full access to stadium facilities or the specific seat you purchased. You must not have previously released your claims against the defendants.
How much money can I get?
It depends on your situation. If you were turned away at the gate (Denied Entry Class), you can claim up to $2,000 per ticket, which can include up to $300 in out-of-pocket travel costs. If you got in but couldn't reach your seat or access facilities (Denied Full Access Class), you can claim $100 per ticket. Both amounts are subject to pro-rata adjustment if total claims exceed the $14 million fund.
What do I need to submit as proof?
All claimants need proof of ticket purchase — an order confirmation or receipt works. If you were denied entry, you also need a date- and time-stamped photo or video of yourself taken outside the stadium during the match, or a government-issued photo ID (you can redact everything except your name and photo). The Denied Full Access Class only needs ticket purchase proof.
Will facial recognition technology be used on my photo?
Potentially, yes. For Denied Entry Class members, the Settlement Administrator may use facial recognition software to compare your submitted photo or video against footage captured in and around Hard Rock Stadium during the match. This is used solely to verify your claim. Any biometric data collected will be permanently deleted no later than 60 days after the claim deadline.
Can multiple people in my household each file their own claim?
Each class member is entitled to their own award, but the whole household must be included on a single Claim Form. Everyone in the household who has a claim must provide their own supporting documentation and sign the form — you just can't submit separate forms.
When will I receive my payment?
Not immediately — the court must first grant final approval at the May 13, 2026 Fairness Hearing. If anyone appeals the approval, that could push payment back by a year or more. What happens if I do nothing?
If you're a class member and do nothing, you'll be bound by the settlement — meaning you give up any right to sue the defendants over the Final Match — but you won't receive any cash award. You need to actively file a claim to get paid. (In other words: doing nothing gets you the legal release without the check. Not a great trade.)
