What happened

Class period: August 27, 2019 through November 14, 2025

DoorDash and its subsidiary Caviar listed Chicago-based restaurants on their delivery platforms without those restaurants ever signing a contract or giving permission. Turns out, showing up somewhere uninvited has consequences. The City of Chicago took DoorDash to court over it, and DoorDash agreed to settle. Now, eligible restaurants can claim a cash payment. If you owned a small Chicago restaurant and one day found yourself on DoorDash wondering how you got there, this settlement may be for you.
