What happened

Who may qualify
- Open-market commercial or industrial customers in South Carolina, Florida, California, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, Texas, Ohio, Indiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, or Jefferson County, Alabama
- Entered into an automatically renewing written contract for waste hauling and/or recycling services with BFI Waste Services or a corporate affiliate
- Contract contains a rate adjustment provision
- Paid rate increases exceeding the combined total of 6% plus the CPI increase during the applicable class period for your state
How to file
- 1. Locate your Login and Password from the Postcard Notice mailed to you by the Settlement Administrator
- 2. Visit the claims portal at https://www.claimsettlementportal.com/republicwaste to file online, OR download the Claim Form at https://bfiwasteservicessettlement.com/pdf/Claim-Form.pdf to mail in
- 3. For $100: include your BFI account number
- 4. For $200 or more: also include a copy of your contract with BFI or an affiliate, plus an invoice showing the excess price increase during the applicable class period
- 5. Submit online or mail so your form is postmarked by April 30, 2026
