Toyota Camry HVAC Settlement 2026 – 2014–2015 Camry Owners May Still Claim Up to $100
If your 2014 or 2015 Toyota Camry smelled like a middle school locker room every time you ran the AC, there's a reason — and a settlement. California Camry owners who replaced a charcoal filter after May 31, 2024 may still claim up to $100 in reimbursement before the May 31, 2026 deadline.
What happened
Class period: Model year 2012–2015 Toyota Camry XV50 vehicles purchased or leased in California prior to May 31, 2024. Note: Only 2014–2015 model year owners with expenses incurred after May 31, 2024 have an active claim window remaining.
Plaintiffs alleged that Toyota designed and sold certain 2012–2015 Camry XV50 vehicles with a defective HVAC system that allowed moisture to build up, causing foul odors and potential mold growth inside the cabin. In other words, your car's air conditioning was apparently growing its own ecosystem — and Toyota knew about it.
Toyota denied all wrongdoing, but agreed to a settlement to resolve the case. The Court granted final approval on January 8, 2025, and claims are now being paid on a rolling basis.
Important: Most claim windows have already closed. The only remaining active deadline is for owners of 2014–2015 model year Camry XV50 vehicles who replaced a charcoal filter after May 31, 2024. If that's you, you have until May 31, 2026 to file.
