What happened

Class period: The data security incident was discovered on June 29, 2024. Documented out-of-pocket losses must be traceable to this incident to qualify for reimbursement.

• On June 29, 2024, Patelco Credit Union discovered that an unauthorized threat actor had gained access to its systems, potentially exposing customers' personally identifiable information. Patelco notified affected members by mail starting in August 2024 -- so the bad news arrived after the breach, as is tradition.
• A class action lawsuit, Cordell et al. v. Patelco Credit Union, was filed in the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda (Case No. 24CV082095).
• Patelco Credit Union denies all wrongdoing. The settlement is not an admission of liability -- it is a negotiated resolution to avoid the costs and uncertainty of continued litigation.
• If your personally identifiable information was stored on the systems accessed during the incident, you may be a Settlement Class Member and entitled to compensation.

2. Click "Submit Claim" and complete the online Claim Form using your name, address, and Notice ID number (if applicable)
3. Submit online by June 11, 2026 -- OR download and mail the paper Claim Form to the Settlement Administrator, postmarked no later than June 11, 2026

Proof required

• For the $100-$200 cash payment: no documentation required -- just a valid, timely Claim Form
• For up to $5,000 in documented losses: receipts, invoices, or other third-party records showing costs incurred as a result of the incident; self-prepared documents alone are not sufficient

Payment timing

Payments will be issued after the Court grants Final Approval at the July 1, 2026 hearing and after any appeals are resolved or the appeal period expires. Check patelcosettlement.com for updates on timing and payment method.
