Google $135M Android Data Settlement 2026 -- No Claim Form Needed, Act by May 29
Google's $135M Android settlement pays out automatically -- no claim form needed. Select your payment method by May 29, 2026 or risk not receiving it.
What happened
Class period: November 12, 2017 through the date the settlement receives final approval.
- The lawsuit alleges that Google's Android operating system caused mobile devices to silently transfer data to Google over cellular networks -- including while phones were completely idle with all apps closed. Your phone was working overtime without putting it on the timesheet.
- Plaintiffs allege Google could have routed these transfers over Wi-Fi but instead allowed them to occur over cellular networks, consuming users' paid data plans without notice or permission.
- The case, Taylor v. Google LLC (Case No. 5:20-cv-07956-VKD), was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose Division. Google denies all wrongdoing and no court has determined that any law was violated.
- A $135 million settlement has been reached to resolve the claims without a trial.
