Gen Digital Norton LifeLock Robocall Settlement 2026 - File a Claim by April 13

Gen Digital, the parent company of Norton antivirus and LifeLock identity protection, is paying $9.95 million to settle claims it made prerecorded robocalls to people who weren't even their customers. If your cell phone received one of those calls between February 2021 and October 2025 about a Norton or LifeLock account you never had, you may be owed $200 to $625. Turns out calling strangers about their nonexistent accounts has a price tag after all.

What happened

Class period: February 19, 2021 through October 30, 2025

Gen Digital Inc., the company behind Norton and LifeLock, allegedly placed prerecorded or artificial voice calls to cell phones belonging to people who had no account with either service. These calls, made between February 19, 2021 and October 30, 2025, discussed LifeLock or Norton account matters with people who had absolutely no idea what Gen was talking about.

Plaintiff Michelle Jackson filed a class action lawsuit alleging these calls violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), which prohibits using prerecorded or artificial voices to call cell phones without prior consent. Gen denies all wrongdoing and denies it violated the TCPA. The court did not decide who was right. The parties agreed to a $9.95 million settlement to resolve the claims.

FAQ

Who is Gen Digital?
Gen Digital is the parent company of Norton (antivirus software) and LifeLock (identity theft protection). They are in the business of keeping people safe online, which makes the robocalling-strangers-without-permission angle particularly on-brand in the wrong direction.
How much will I receive?
Each valid claimant is estimated to receive between $200 and $625. The exact amount depends on how many people file valid claims. The $9.95 million fund is divided equally among all valid claimants after deducting attorney fees (up to one-third of the fund), administration costs (estimated at $315,400), litigation expenses (up to $20,000), and a $15,000 service award to the plaintiff.
What if I never received a Claim Form in the mail?
You can still file. You will need to provide evidence that you received a prerecorded call from Gen about a Norton or LifeLock account during the class period, and attest that you were not a customer at the time. The settlement administrator will then send you a Claim Form to complete.
Do I have to go to court?
No. You can file online or by mail and never set foot in a courtroom. The Final Fairness Hearing is scheduled for July 14, 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona, but attendance is not required.
What if I want to opt out?
You may exclude yourself by mailing a written exclusion request to Kroll Settlement Administration, postmarked by April 13, 2026. If you opt out, you will receive no payment but you keep the right to pursue your own lawsuit against Gen.
What if I object to the settlement?
If you believe the settlement is not fair or adequate, you may file a written objection postmarked by April 13, 2026. Instructions for objecting are available at https://jacksonivrsettlement.com/faq.
What happens if I do nothing?
If you are a class member and do nothing, you will not receive any payment. You will also release your claims against Gen, meaning you cannot later sue them over the same issue.
