What happened

Class period: January 2025

  • In January 2025, an unauthorized party gained access to a Christian Dior customer database. Nobody invited them, but there they were.
  • The exposed data may include names, contact information, addresses, dates of birth, government ID numbers, and in a small number of cases, Social Security numbers
  • Dior notified affected customers directly after discovering the breach
  • A class action lawsuit was filed in Florida's Broward County Circuit Court, alleging Dior failed to adequately protect customer data
  • Dior denies wrongdoing but agreed to settle rather than take the case to trial, which is lawyer-speak for "this is probably easier for everyone"

FAQ

How do I know if I qualify for the $100 Tier 1 cash payment?
Check the notice you received from Dior. If your Social Security number was specifically impacted, your email or postcard will say so. No mention of Tier 1 eligibility in your notice means you are a standard class member, eligible for documented losses and free credit monitoring.
What kinds of losses qualify for reimbursement?
Identity theft or fraud losses, fees you paid for credit monitoring or credit reports, costs to replace government-issued IDs, and postage for contacting banks by mail. Losses must have occurred between July 18, 2025, and March 11, 2026, and you need receipts or third-party documentation to back them up.
Do I need to prove I was harmed to file?
Only if you want the documented loss reimbursement. The free credit monitoring and the $100 Tier 1 payment require zero proof. Just fill out the form and submit.
Can I opt out and still object?
No. Opting out means the settlement does not affect you, so you have nothing to object to. Pick a lane and stay in it.
I received a notice but I never shopped at Dior. What gives?
Dior's database may have included information from past purchases, loyalty programs, or inquiries. If you received a notice, Dior's records indicate your information was in the affected database, regardless of how recently you were a customer.
What if I just do nothing?
You will not receive any benefits, and you will give up your right to sue Dior separately for the claims covered by this settlement. Not the move.
